Talent Hunt Youth Sports Registration

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited talented athletes from the country to join the Youth Sports League under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP). The sports league will include volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and squash games in 25 districts. Interested players can apply online through the PMYP website.

The Talent Hunt Youth Sports League seeks to identify the best athletes in a variety of sports for females and males, such as Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Football, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Squash, Table Tennis, and Volleyball as well as Weightlifting and Wrestling. Only for males.

Furthermore, the program provides the same opportunities for growth for both genders. It encourages the pursuit of excellence in sports by identifying the best talents for the appropriate sports to nurture them through mentoring and coaching.

Goals and Objectives

One of the goals for the future of the program is to grow HEC’s HEC team and create an elite group of youngsters to create pros (male as well as female) who participate and represent Pakistan at both the international and national levels. . The goal of this project is to start an initiative to hunt for talent to boost the sports culture of the country.

the current situation

The first stage of this project, the talent hunt and provincial leagues for weightlifting and wrestling were completed and the national league will begin in August 2022.

The activities to find talent for other sports in 2022-23’s time will be as the following.

• Badminton (Men & Women)
• Table Tennis (Men & Women)
• Squash (Men and Women)

Additionally, the talent hunt for football and cricket will begin in 2022-23.

Athletes must meet the eligibility requirements for sports.

1. Between 15 and 25 years
2. Citizens of Pakistan and AJ
3. Players from the department cannot participate in games.

Steps to take

HEC Talent Hunt intends to offer unlimited opportunities to select players in the Youth Sports League after winning the National League in their respective sports. This includes the provision of development and coaching facilities under the supervision of the Pakistan Sports Board and the offer of scholarships to students pursuing higher education. Furthermore, selected players (male as well as female) will be partnered with Sports Academies (High Performance and Resource Center) to continually improve their abilities, skills, and physical fitness to compete professionally.
